BLACKPINK is making preparations to make a comeback in June, showing that YG Entertainment is in high gear.

On May 14, an YG official confirmed that BLACKPINK is getting ready to make a comeback in June. The group was dubbed “monster rookie” upon its debut, and now it has become one of the most popular girl groups in Korea’s music scene. The news of their comeback is enough to get any K pop fan excited.

AKMU, WINNER, SECHSKIES, and PSY have all made a comeback since the beginning of this year, and iKON announced that it will come back soon. It seems that YG Entertainment already has a handful, so industry experts predicted that BLACKPINK’s comeback will take place in the latter half of this year. YG is also known for delaying the comeback of its musicians to earn time to perfect the music.

BLACKPINK is YG’s only girl group after 2NE1, and since it is consisted of talented members, expectations are running high for its comeback. Since BLACKPINK will be making a comeback in June, fans are highly anticipating seeing a new BLACKPINK in the summer.

In the morning of May 14, a video featuring ROSÉ doing a cover of WINNER’s “REALLY REALLY” while playing the guitar was posted on BLACKPINK’s official Instagram page. On May 13, JENNIE posted pictures of herself on the group’s page showing off her cute, innocent and chic charms.

Meanwhile, three of BLACKPINK’s music videos— “WHISTLE”, “BOOMBAYAH”, and “PLAYING WITH FIRE”—have all surpassed the 100 million view mark although the group debuted only about a year ago. And the videos and pictures they posted on their Instagram page have recorded an average of 500,000 views.

JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA can speak English, which makes it easier for the group to aim for the global market.
