On February 25th, the Korean Business Research Institute revealed their March 2018 brand reputation rankings for singers. Their findings are based on 157,290,415 pieces of data collected from January 27 to February 28 of 2018. This is a 15.17 percent increase in data from December, which was the last time that brand reputation rankings were compiled for idol groups.
The data measures various indexes including participation (brands the celebrity has participated in/product consumption), media (media marketing worth), communication (ability to communicate with public) , and community (community’s perception of them/social marketing worth) to determine their brand reputation.
Wanna One comes in first place with a combined brand reputation score of 14,557,865. Second place goes to BTS while third place goes to EXO. BLACKPINK placed 9th with a total brand index score of 3,849,460.
Taking a closer look at the analysis, BLACKPINK has 337,656 points on the Participation Index category while getting 608,909 points for Media Index. For the Communication Index category the group got 1,702,094 points and 1,200,801 points for Community Perception Index with a total Brand Reputation Index of 3,849,460.
On the last 3 idol ranking lists, BLACKPINK has maintain its spot within the Top 10, being at 9th place on October 2017 & 6th on December 2017.
