Global video streaming site YouTube has released the top 20 K-pop channels and the top 20 Korean channels who showed the most growth in the first half of 2018.
The data was recorded from November 24, 2017 through June 25, 2018 ranks the channels based on the highest increase in subscribers from locations outside of Korea. Foreign subscribers accounted for 95 percent of the top 20 K-pop channels’ new subscribers, proving the worldwide status of K-pop idols.
BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel came in second place.
BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel also gained many new subscribers with the release of their latest mini album “SQUARE UP.” The music video of their title song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” gained a tremendous number of views and is currently passing 215 million views.
