[NEWS] BLACKPINK Decorates Billboards of Major US Cities, First Appearance on ‘The Jimmy Fallon Show’, World Class Response

BLACKPINK is decorating billboards of major cities in the US, the country with the biggest Pop music market, while accelerating their heated popularity.

According to YG Entertainment on the 27th, the news on the release of BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ is being promoted in New York Times Square, Toronto, and LA downtown.

It is not surprising considering the fact that BLACKPINK is the best K-Pop girl group in the Hot 100, one of Billboard’s main charts, and that they are the most streamed girl group in Spotify.

Furthermore, it is almost certain that the MV for ‘How You Like That’ will surpass 100M views on YouTube in the shortest amount of time. The video has surpassed 57M views in half a day since its release on the 26th at 6 PM, setting a not only a new K-Pop record, but also a world record.

Their first comeback performance was also world class. BLACKPINK appeared on NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon(hereby ‘Jimmy Fallon Show’)’ and met the global fans. The ‘Jimmy Fallon Show’ considerately allowed to stream BLACKPINK’s performance on YouTube, which reached approximately 210 thousand simultaneous viewers.

During the show, Jimmy Fallon mentioned that for BLACKPINK, “A new word that is more than a ‘phenomenon’ should be created for this group” before introducing ‘How You Like That’. BLACKPINK then appeared wearing clothes utilizing hanbok and raised the status of K-Pop with their flawless song and performance.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK will begin their music broadcast activities in Korea on the 28th through SBS ‘Inkigayo’, following their appearance on the ‘Jimmy Fallon Show’.
