On March 9, YG Entertainment revealed the tracklist of ROSÉ’s first solo album 3 days before its global release.
ROSÉ’s first-ever single album ‘R’ will contain 2 tracks, the title track ‘On the Ground’ and ‘Gone’. ROSÉ participated in the writing of all 2 tracks, adding more meaning.
The producers who have assisted ROSÉ are quite amazing. YG The Black Label’s representative producers including TEDDY and 24, who have worked with BLACKPINK ever since their debut, along with talented singer-songwriters from the global music industry have been included in the credits.
The title track ‘On The Ground’ was created under the collaboration between Jorgen Odegard, known for producing hits for world-famous Pop stars Justin Bieber and Tori Kelly, along with ojivolta, TEDDY, Jon Bellion, and 24.
Furthermore, Amy Allen and Raúl Cubina who have worked with Harry Styles and Halsey have also been included in the lineup to add musical completeness.
The song ‘Gone’ also has a great lineup. While 24 and Brian Lee were in charge of the general producing, J. Lauryn, TEDDY, and ROSÉ completed the track together.

On The Ground*title track*
Produced by Jorgen Odegard, ojivolta, Teddy, Jon Bellion, 24
Written by Amy Allen, Jon Bellion, Jorgen Odegard, Raul Cubina, Teddy, Rosé
“On The Ground” is pop-rock which begins with a tense guitar sound. The mysterious arrangement of instruments with the added sound as the song progresses, and Rosé’s vocals, which flow smoothly, make her attractive as a solo artist even more prominent.
The cool drop part from the climax gives listeners a new sense of pleasure they have never felt before. The lyrics contain the message, “I’ve always been running toward higher places, but the important value lies within me.”
Gone
Produced by 24, Brian Lee
Written by Brian Lee, J. Lauryn, Teddy, Rosé
“Gone” is a simple pop-folk song that unravels the heart of a departed lover with a minimal arrangement centered on guitar and Rosé’s appealing voice. The progress and composition of the restrained song makes the story of the song stand out even more.
Through Rosé’s more mature appearance, sweet and delicate, but also powerful and rough vocals, and resonant songs, we hope that Rosé will share the message she wants to deliver on her first single album.
Rosé’s first single album ‘-R-‘ will be available digitally worldwide this Friday, March 12th 2PM KST / 12AM EST!
